January 2010 and the consumer, retail and B2B, is expected to cough out even more this year on everyday necessities.
Contrary to what some technology websites tell us, Internet technology should NOT cost you MORE money this year, in fact technology prices are going down, rapidly!
1 - Are you being ripped off by your Internet Service Provider (ISP)?
Websites and Email.
Ask yourself the following questions..
- Are you being limited on the amount of email accounts you can open for your website?
- Are you being charged for the data, or downloads, from your website?
- Can you open/run databases on your website without paying extra for database space and setup?
- Can you create these website services yourself on the Internet for your website, without having to log a support ticket at your ISP?
- Can you add more websites to your account, or do you need to pay AGAIN for this service?
These are only a few of the questions you can ask yourself, and all services that should not cost you ONE CENT in 2010.
2 - What are my options?
- A basic website should not cost you more than R45 p/m, INCLUDING all website services like emails and downloads.
- A large website, or full e-commerce database driven website should not cost you more than R170 p/m!
- If you are unhappy with your current ISP you have the right to require a transfer for your site.
